Whales can be spotted equally throughout the day. Although every tour is different from the other, there’s equal chance for a great show at any given hour.

Whale watching is a weather dependent activity. The best way to estimate the conditions is of course the weather forecast, preferably with a short notice. The mornings have a tendency to be calmer than the afternoon though. Also, the late evenings are more often than not calm and therefore we usually have good conditions in our midnight sun tour.

How about the whales behavior?

It ain’t so different between separate parts of the day. After all they spend their time mostly feeding.

The weather is the biggest factor really. The weather in Iceland changes rapidly so it’s different between days really. Usually the mornings and the late evenings are calmer than the afternoons though. If you plan to book in short notice, try to catch the weather forecast and estimate the preferable weather for whale watching.

In the rare cases of no whale sightings, passengers get a “Return ticket”. That means that customers of the tour can return in the future (even the next tour depending on availability) for a free tour. We don’t refund tickets because of no whale sightings.

You can either choose to join us in a tour later or get a full refund.

If cancellation happens more than a week from the scheduled tour, customers get a full refund. If cancellation happens 1-7 days befor the scheduled tour, customers will get a 50% refund. Cancelled tours inside 24-hours from scheduled tours will not be refunded. The same goes for customer not showing up in the scheduled tour he/she booked.

No. We’re dealing with wild nature and it is unpredictable. However we’ve got whale sightings in 99% of our tours for the recent years so we can be pretty optimistic each and every time we leave the harbor.
